Woman Survives Fall After Bungee Cord Snaps (VIDEO) in Zambia
“I landed with my legs tied and then had to swim to the Zimbabwe side [of the river] through the rapids,’ she said when interviewed by Australia’s Channel Nine Network. “It was quite scary because a couple of times the rope actually got caught on some rocks or debris. I actually had to swim down and yank the bungee cord out of whatever it was caught on to make it to the surface.”
News reports say Erin Langworthy’s bungee cord broke when she was about 20 meters above the river. She then alertly swam immediately after plunging into the crocodile-infested river. She was treated on site and immediate brought to the hospital where Langworthy spent a week recuperating. Officials are now investigating the incident.
The bungee jump was done on a bridge at Victoria Falls, the world’s highest water falss, on Zambia’s border with Zimbabwe. (VIDEO CREDIT: YouTube/ABC)
