Is Whitney Houston joining The X Factor USA? Is Whitney the new X Factor judge after Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger’s firing last month? The Hollywood Reporterthinks so. It reports that Whitney Houston has been approached to be on the judging panel of the Simon Cowell project.
Simon Cowell needs a replacement for Paula and Nicole. The X Factor USA was only a mild success in its first season contrary to Cowell’s claims before the show premiered that it would surpass American Idol. Part of the problem for The X Factor was the judging panel, and the host, Steve Jones, who was also fired. Putting a diva on the panel worked for American Idol with Jennifer Lopez and Simon is now bent on trying this formula. But his problem is who to get.
Mariah Carey was reportedly his first choice. Mariah was already his choice for The X Factor before it premiered. However, Mariah was still pregnant at the time. But now that she has given birth, Mariah is reportedly still not available with twins to take care of.
It was rumored last week that Simon was eyeing Katy Parry and Beyonce. In fact, it was already rumored that Beyonce would be paid millions for her stint. However, Simon issued a statement this week that neither Katy Perry nor Beyonce will be on The X Factor.
