Binay released an official statement through his spokesman Joey Salgado on this issue. Salgado says the only official online presence of the vice president at the moment is his Facebook account.
“The OVP decided to put up an account for the Vice President on Facebook as the social networking site provides an opportunity to reach out to Filipinos here and abroad given its popularity,” said Salgado. The Facebook page includes official press statements, speeches, and photos.
Vice President Jojo Binay had an official website but is is undergoing rehabilitation right now. The website was hacked a few weeks ago and the OVP has decided to transfer the website to a more secure host. Once the rehabilitation is done, the new official website of VP Jojo Binay will be up for the benefit of Filipinos seeking more information from the office.
“The free hosted account of OVP has been cancelled [and] we have decided to move to a more secure host after the OVP website was hacked. The website should be up by next week,” he said.
