‘Stomping’ VIDEO: Pacquiao Stepped on Marquez Foot Too

Manny Pacquiao stepped on Marquez as well. A video showing Pacquiao stepping on Juan Manuel Marquez’s foot several times during the fight has been posted on YouTube to debunk claims that the Mexican fighter cheated in their controversial fight.

The video, entitled ‘Pacquiao Dirty move vs Marquez’, thus supports boxing analysts’ statements that such foot stepping happens all the time when a southpaw and an orthodox fighter face each other. Besides, if Marquez really cheated by deliberately stepping on Pacquiao’s foot, we would have heard protests from Bob Arum, coach Freddie Roach and others in the Pacquiao camp by now. In fact, Freddie Roach himself said it’s a very common occurrence in such fights.

But some Pacquiao fans are unconvinced as evidenced by these comments posted online:

try to look at both videos again… When pacquiao steps the foot he immediately lift it back and there was never been a clean step on that video… On the other hand marquez steps over manny’s foot longer than necessary. And you can tell by looking than there is a certain pattern when marquez steps over the foot of manny. it’s either when manny attacks (to stop his momentum) or when marquez throws a punch (to prevent manny on evading). His posture is the same in all his stepping moves! Anyway the fight had ended, the decisions were given. That’s all there is! Manny Pacquiao won! by Raymond L. Andulana

This video is pathetic!!! If you look closely. Manny’s tip of his foot barely touching the foot of Marquez while Marquez foot is covering the whole foot of Pac. Manny was just moving forward to take a punch, Marquez was pinning and then taking a punch. The number of occurrences of the incidents also come into play. Manny two to three times, while Marquez doing it probably 20 times. Now, you do the analysis if it was intentional on the side of Marquez or Pacquiao! by Lyndon Rescate
