Sinag Pilipinas Beats Vietnam in 2011 SEA Games Basketball
Sinag Pilipinas, the Philippine basketball team to the 2011 SEA Games, controlled the game from the start, outscoring Vietnam’s basketball team 32-4 in the first quarter and continued with a 27-19 output in the second. In the third quarter, Vietnam went on the offensive, scoring 18 points. But their defense failed to contain the Philippine team which poured on 25.
Greg Slaughter from the Ateneo Blue Eagles top-scored for the Philippines’ Sinag Pilipinas team with 20 points. Three other players – Parks, Ellis and Lanete – scored in double figures. The Philippines will play Thailand tomorrow for their last assignment in the group stages. The top two teams from each group will go on to compete in the semifinals. Sinag Pilipinas looks set to enter the semis with already two wins.
