Myanmar took an early lead and never looked back. Myanmar defender Aye San scored in the 10th minute, and Kyaw Zeyar Win scored another goal in the 41st minute to give Myanmar a 2-0 cushion heading into the half, as the Azkals failed to lift their game to the level of their opponents. In the second half, Myanmar picked up where it left off, with striker Kyaw Ko Ko scoring two goals in succession within ten minutes of each other – one in the 46th and another in the 55th minute. But the onslaught was not over. The Myanmar side rubbed salt into the Philippine Azkals’ wounds when Yan Aung Win scored in injury time for the final score.
