Nicole Scherzinger Leaving The X Factor in 2012?

In a recent interview with Radar Online, Nicole Scherzinger said she will focus more on her music in 2012. She said her music took the back seat in 2011 because of her schedule as judge on The X Factor USA. It will be recalled that Nicole was originally cast as a co-host of The X Factor USA with Steve Jones. However, when Cheryl Cole was suddenly fired, Nicole Scherzinger was called in as her replacement.
“Next year for me, it’s about my music,” Nicole said. “The reason it hasn’t come out yet is because of The X Factor. It’s been so time consuming. I work with these contestants six days a week. So I delayed the album, but I was able to perform one of my new singles last week.”
“I’m used to being on stage and performing and singing for people and people cheering for me,” she added. “I am an artist first, not a judge first!”
Many are guessing that Nicole will eventually be replaced next season. It was earlier rumored that Mariah Carey would be a judge of The X Factor USA but declined due to her pregnancy. Now that she has given birth, speculation is she will be one of the judges next season. The X Factor USA needs a big name artist on the panel just like American Idol’s JLo especially after the lower than expected ratings of season 1.
