Mysterious Metal Ball Falls From the Sky in Namibia (PHOTO)
The ‘metal space ball’ landed in the grasslands about 480 miles north of the Namibian capital of Windhoek. According to reports from the AFP, it created a crater 13 inches (33 cm) deep and 12.5 feet (3.8 meters) across. Experts believe the explosions reported by residents could have been sonic boom when the metal ball broke the sound barrier when it fell to the ground. The metal ball remained intact despite the impact. According to the AFP, has a rough surface and looks like two halves welded together. As to its contents, nobody knows.
More tests on the metal object are needed to establish what it is and where it came from. Authorities have already notified NASA and the European Space Agency.
