“There are several individuals associated with a terrorist group. There is a report that they were spotted in the National Capital Region,” PNoy said at a press briefing in Malacañang last night. “I’m not saying that the probability has increased dramatically but there has been an increase and we would not want to unduly increase the risk to our populace that’s why we’re coming up with this warning,” Noynoy Aquino added. He did not, however, say which terror group was planning the attack.
Twitter posts from Manila residents have confirmed that the mobile phone signal in their areas are practically nil. It is unknown, as of this writing, until when the signals will remain jammed.
An executive of one of the big telecommunications companies has confirmed to GMA News that they have complied with the government request. The executive, however, wishes to remain anonymous. He also expressed his surprise why the government made this public.
If the ‘terrorists’ know that the signals are already jammed, won’t they find other ways to do whatever terrorist act they’re planning?
