Manchester United bolted to the top of the English Premier League table after defeating Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford. The win gave Manchester United a one-point lead over rivals Manchester City with the latter having a game in hand. City can wrest the lead back if it wins or draws with Aston Villa tomorrow. Wayne Rooney took the scoring chores for United producing a double after halftime. But it was a pre-game incident that marked the encounter.
As the two team lined up for the traditional pre-game handshakes, Luis Suarez snubbed Patrice Evra sending the Frenchman fuming. Evra tugged at Suarez’s arm after the snub and angry words were exchanged. Their feud dates back to October last year when Suarez was accused of racial abuse on Evra during a match at Anfield.
