“Our strategy is simple: while other countries invite you to observe, Filipinos can promise a more heartfelt and interesting experience. Wherever you go, whatever you do in the country, it’s the Filipinos that will complete your vacation and will make your holiday unforgettable,” explained Ramon Jimenez Jr., Department of Tourism secretary.
“The national line is a goal, a constant reminder to ourselves why we can tell travellers it’s more fun here than anywhere else,” Jimenez added. “It needs everyone’s support for it to stay true—we need to make sure people’s experiences in our country are positive, enjoyable, and most of all, fun.”
And if it’s the Pinoys’ help Jimenez needs in making this campaign successful, he just got a sampling after the new slogan trended on Twitter today. Mind you, not only locally but worldwide! Sa dami ba naman ng Pinoy sa lahat ng sulok ng mundo – sa Antarctica lang yata wala – it was bound to get a lot of support. And why not? The new slogan is catchy, it speaks the truth and it truly describes life in the Philippines.
Definitely a BIG improvement from the previous slogan – ‘Pilipinas Kay Ganda’. How can a slogan be globally effective it it’s in Tagalog?
