With the crowd clearly behind the former world number 1 Swiss ace, Roger Federer booked his place in the final against Rafael Nadal and denied Novak Djokovic not only a place in the final but also the world number one ranking. Djokovic would have snatched the world top ranking if he won against Federer. Still, Novak will be world number 1 if Nadal loses in the final. The loss also meant the end of the winning streak for the Serbian champion. It stands at 41 matches since the start of the season in January, 1 short of the record set by John McEnroe in 1984.
Truly a disappointing loss for Novak but the streak had to end sometime. (VIDEO CREDIT: YouTube)
