El Clasico 12/10/2011: Barcelona Beats Real Madrid 3-1 (VIDEO)
Barcelona has done it again in El Clasico. Barcelona beat rivals Real Madrid to rule another El Clasico encounter, and move to the top of the standings over their fierce rivals (Madrid has one game in hand, though). The win thus improves Barcelona’s record over Los Blancos to 3-0-1 in the last four seasons.
El Clasico opened terribly for Barcelona. Barcelona’s goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, miskicked a clearance to hand Real Madrid the ball just 21 seconds into El Clasico. Karim Benzema did not waste the opportunity and put Los Blancos ahead, probably the quickest goal in El Clasico history.
But that was all Real Madrid could do as Barcelona found its rhythm. Alexis Sanchez scored in the 30th minute, Xavi Hernandez contributed another goal in the 53rd and Cesc Fabregas got the final goal in the 66th to lead Barcelona over their bitter rivals. (VIDEO CREDIT: YouTube/GoalsArena)
