This year’s MVP, Derrick Rose, led the way for the home team in a game that started as a close fight, However, in the second half, the Bulls pulled away to score a 103-82 rout of the visiting Miami team. The key to Chicago’s success was defense. Chicago’s MVP Derrick Rose scored 28 points but it was the Bulls’ defense that really stood up, strangling Miami’s scorers. Chris Bosh managed a game high 30 points for the Heat, but Dwyane Wade got just 18 and LeBron James only 15.
In addition to Rose’s 28, Deng contributed 21 points. Carlos Boozer added 14 points and nine rebounds. Joakim Noah had 14 rebounds and the Bulls pounded the Heat on the glass, 45-33. Game 2 is on Wednesday also in Chicago.
