Tempers flared on injury time after Real Madrid’s Marcelo challenged Casc Fabregas. There was pushing and shoving on the pitched and cameras even captured Madrid coach Jose Mourinho seemingly pinching the eye of Real’s assistant coach Tito Vilanova.
But Barcelona could not be denied victory. In front of a full-packed Camp Nou stadium, Barca controlled the game against the visitors who couldn’t seem to find the right formula to defend against Lionel Messi. The Argentinian striker scored two goals in this latest El Clasico encounter and was instrumental in the third. The 3-2 win against Madrid gave Barcelona a 5-4 aggregate to win the Spanish Supercup.
