Andy Murray was playing quite during the match. However, a drop shot recovery may have wrecked his chances in the tournament. Leading 2-1 in the second set, Murray ran forward to recover the ball and twisted his ankle in the process. Though he won the point, he was seen hopping on the sidelines and keeping his weight off his right ankle. Murray made it to the changeover where a trainer was called to check on his condition. His ankle was taped and Murray went on to win the match.
“The thing is with ankles and stuff like this, the ATP physios see that stuff a few times a week probably, so they know better than most the best way to deal with them,” Murray said. “They’ve got good doctors here, so I’ll have the right advice.”
He said his ankle is “very sore” and he will probably have a scan to learn the extent of the injury. Fans fear the injury could force him to pull out. (VIDEO CREDIT: EURO SPORT)
