Ray Allen was the hero of the game. Allen hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 12 seconds left in Game 1 of their NBA playoff to help Boston move a step closer to the title. New York led 85-84 before Carmelo Anthony was called for an offensive foul for pushing Paul Pierce with 21 seconds remaining. Allen, who led the Boston Celtics with 24 points, sank the decisive basket from beyond the left arc.
