All 89 contestants participated in the preliminary competition. From this event, the Miss Universe 2011 preliminary judges will choose the 15 semifinalists which will be announced on pageant night in September 12. One more lucky Miss Universe candidate will join the semifinalists making the magic number 16. She is will be the winner of the 2011 Miss Universe online poll under way at the official website right now.
So who are your top bets from the preliminary competition. Mine is, of course, Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup. Other candidates that caught my attention were Miss Brazil, Miss Venezuela, Miss Thailand, Miss Autralia and Miss Croatia.
